Roianne is our global director of diversity and inclusion, leading our internal efforts and advising clients on how to build more equitable workplaces. Over the past two decades, she has championed initiatives in inclusive leadership, intersectionality, feminism, and financial inclusion.
Over her career, Roianne has worked as an objective advisor to boards and individual leaders in industries including financial and professional services, retail banking, central and local government, engineering, and tech. Using her skills as an experienced project and change manager and chartered accountant, she creates practical and actionable solutions with a clear business focus.
Inclusion and diversity is a core business activity. Beyond human resources and leadership, we all have a right to be included and a responsibility to include others.
In 2020, Roianne was named to the top 20 Global Diversity Professionals List and was shortlisted for the National Diversity Awards as the positive BAME Role Model of the Year. She has also spoken at the House of Commons at the BAME Women’s Showcase event for International Women’s Day.
The skills I use to make an impact on inclusion are charisma, tenacity, and resilience. For instance, being a Black woman navigating complex conversations on race can be tricky, and I enjoy the challenge of seeing a lightbulb go off when people suddenly understand what inclusion means to them.
In her spare time, Roianne is a published author of “The Trusted Black Girl” and has launched a network by the same name which focuses on conversations about Black women and women of color in the workplace.
