Carey is a partner based in Oliver Wyman’s Singapore office, serving Financial Services clients across Southeast Asia and North Asia.
He has more than 16 years of consulting experience, working with leading institutions in Asia, the Americas, and Europe on strategic transformation programs. He advises global financial institutions on risk management, compliance, capital management, strategic planning and budgeting, risk identification and governance, stress testing, and capital markets risk.
Through his work, Carey has witnessed the changing competitive dynamics between domestic and foreign banks in different regions and helped his clients adapt their business strategy accordingly. In the US, he supported his clients to cope with the impact of regulatory reform. In Asia, he applied the lessons learned from other regions to help his clients navigate both growth and risk management.

Carey combines his track record of leading successful change management in complex organizations with his technical expertise and content knowledge on the most critical issues across finance, risk, and compliance.
A Harvard University graduate, he earned his PhD from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). He grew up in the US and spent summers with his family in Asia. He considers his return to Singapore and his work with Asian clients a homecoming.
Outside of work, Carey likes to explore the diverse neighborhoods of Singapore and experience the vibrant flavors of food, language, and culture in the region.
