The Oliver Wyman Health Innovation Center (OWHIC) is excited to announce the second annual Tom Main Health Innovation Mentorship winner, Corbin Petro, Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder of Eleanor Health. Her company is a value-based, tech-enabled provider specializing in helping people with substance use disorder. It is also a mental health medical home that delivers whole-person, evidence-based care focused on those suffering from substance abuse, addiction, and behavioral health issues. Prior to working at Eleanor Health, Corbin also served as the Chief Executive Officer of Benevera Health and Chief Operating Officer of the Massachusetts Department of Medicaid, among other experiences.

Corbin follows our first mentorship winner, Lisa Janssen AldersonGenome Medical’s Co-Founder, President, and Chief Executive Officer, whose company works to advance how US consumers use and adopt genomics. This year's nominees delivered virtual pitches to a panel of judges, including last year's winner, Lisa.

This mentorship initiative is in honor of Tom Main, who founded OWHIC. Tom — a former Partner and the US Market Leader within Oliver Wyman’s Health and Life Sciences practice — was passionate about mentoring health transformers. He unexpectedly passed away in 2018. The Tom Main Health Innovation Mentorship aims to carry on his mission — one rooted in innovation and strategy — to support leaders aiming for health transformation.

Making an Impact

This mentorship pairs mentees like Corbin with a dedicated mentor (a partner from Oliver Wyman's Health and Life Sciences team). Together, Corbin and her mentor will identify how best to accelerate Eleanor Health's path to success and what opportunities to breakthrough can be leveraged via support and resources.

Throughout the program, the mentor will assist Corbin in navigating these business challenges through a blend of working sessions, access to a broader network of subject matter experts, and general guidance based upon Oliver Wyman’s collective knowledge and experience.

Oliver Wyman is grateful to have the support of the ten venture capital firms who nominated the initial set of entrepreneurs: 7wire Ventures, Andreessen Horowitz, Ascension Ventures, Canaan, Echo Health Ventures, General Catalyst, Health Catalyst Capital Management, Mayfield Capital, Norwest Venture Partners, and Sandbox Industries. We are also incredibly appreciative to our judging panel for their valuable time and insights during our virtual Pitch Day: Jeanne Cohen (Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Motive Practicing Wisely Solutions), Jeff Margolis (chairman of Welltok), Grace E. Terrell, MD, MMM (Chief Executive Officer of Eventus Whole Health), Lisa Alderson (Chief Executive Officer of Genome Medical), and, lastly, from Oliver Wyman's Health and Life Sciences Team, Rohith Banerjee, Tom Robinson, and Sam Glick.

And finally, a warm thank you to Tom’s family for their continued involvement and support regarding this initiative. Because of our community's commitment and dedication, the Tom Main Health Innovation Mentorship is a reality.
