This report is presented as a continuous exercise in transparency and accountability on MMC’s Mexico progress in the three areas of sustainability: economic, social, and environmental. Our pledge is reflected in the actions carried out during 2018 including a strong support to our colleagues and work, to improve the living conditions of the communities in which we serve through allied organizations on issues of education, humanitarian aid, and disaster recovery. Efforts were consolidated to build resilient communities through volunteering focusing on mentoring, risk prevention, and reconstruction. This allowed the strengthening of our corporate culture while increasing our colleagues commitment to society - which grows exponentially every year.
During 2018, we volunteered over 3,600 hours in the community thanks to the enthusiastic participation of our colleagues. In addition, this year we launched our Resilient School Community project in partnership with the Red Cross, which seeks to provide the schools with skills and abilities to address the risks present in their locations. We are also aware of the importance of preserving the environment and the responsibility we have to contribute to its protection for future generations. As part of our environmental care program, we focused on reducing CO2 emulations with our eco-efficiency programs that seek to consolidate a sustainable culture through electricity savings, efficient use of transportation, as well as reduction and recycling of paper and other materials.
At MMC we celebrate the diversity and richness of ideas it represents, so we seek to provide safe spaces for our colleagues so they can express themselves freely. This report also highlights the continuous strengthening of the relationship between MMC’s companies in Mexico.
