Mercer Oliver Wyman's report, 'Joint Forces Generate Success', discusses the state of German non-financial institutions in Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and comments on international Best Practice. It calls for action in the development of ERM in order to better understand the risk-return profile of strategic decisions as well as tactical measures on an operational or project level. Insurance management must be coordinated closely with ERM as insurance is but one risk mitigation measure. In order to master the challenges the market puts in front of them, companies, insurers, brokers and inhouse brokers need to take action in different areas. The report concludes by listing those actions for each of the aforementioned.
