Overview
Bloomberg Businessweek Middle East and Oliver Wyman present the Internet of Things (IoT) Conclave 2018, an event dedicated to understanding and highlighting the immense power of IoT to transform organizations, national economies and society with a focus on Kuwait and the Middle East.
The Internet of Things (IoT), has progressed rapidly towards becoming a reality in the past year or two. Companies and organizations across all industries are beginning to understand the potential of the concept to transform operations and business models, and drive efficiencies.
There is however a still a long way to go and it would be fair to say that the IoT innovations that we have seen to date, including in Kuwait, are just the tip of the iceberg. The progress being made by Kuwait’s telecom operators towards launching 5G services will prove pivotal in facilitating seamless IoT services; and with Kuwait’s government also committed to diversifying its economy as part of its ‘New Kuwait 2035’ programme, IoT is widely expected to play a major role in helping to transition the country’s economy away from a dependence on oil.
The event will bring together executives with specialist knowledge of IoT from a broad range of industries and sectors including government, oil and gas, logistics and banking, to discuss the huge potential of IoT in Kuwait, best practice in terms of implementation, and how potential roadblocks can be removed to unleash the full power of the technology.
