Overview

On May 25th, we will launch and discuss two reports of the Panorama Brasil series: Infrastructure & Regulation and The Telecommunication Sector at the Centro Cultural FGV in Rio de Janeiro.

For this event, Ana Carla (partner of Oliver Wyman), Vinicius (PUC-Rio) and Alessandro Jorge (partner of Oliver Wyman) invite journalists, academics and market professionals to discuss the challenges of Brazil in several topics as infrastructure, state reform and credit market.

The panel of infrastructure and telecommunication will have a debate with Elena Landau (Livres), Joisa Dutra (FGV) and Claudio Frischtak (Inter.B Consultoria), mediated by Daniel Rittner (Valor). The panel will be followed by presentation and debate regarding other topics of Panorama Brasil that will be published soon.

Speakers

ANA CARLA ABRÃO is a partner of Oliver Wyman and president of the Fiscal Management Council of São Paulo. Previously, she has been secretary of finance of Goiás state (2015-2016), where she promoted a strong fiscal adjustment. Ana Carla has also worked as director of Risk and Modelling at Itaú Unibanco, chief economist at Tendências Consultoria Integrada, and analyst at the Brazilian Central Bank. Ana Carla holds a Ph.D. in economics from the University of São Paulo (USP), a master's degree from the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV). Her doctoral thesis, which included essays on credit spread, bankruptcy law and credit market, received the Haralambos Simeonidis award, considered the most important academic award in Brazil.

ALESSANDRO JORGE is a partner of Oliver Wyman. He has more than 10 years of consulting experience and has participated in dozens of operational, transformation, technical, and strategic projects for large corporations mainly across the Communication Media and Technology sector (i.e. mobile, fixed, integrated Telcos) in Emerging Markets. Alessandro holds a degree in Business Administration from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) in Brazil and an MBA from the London Business School.
