Waqas is a Senior Advisor at Oliver Wyman. As a recognised leader in the financial and management world, he provides expertise in financial markets products, infrastructure and technology with a particular focus on data, analytics and index solutions.

Waqas has held a number of C-Suite and leadership positions, most recently as CEO of the FTSE Russell indices business, as Group Director of Information Services and as an Executive Committee member at London Stock Exchange Group. Over the past two decades, Waqas has held roles at Deutsche Bank and Barclays, where he transformed research-oriented functions to form new commercial business lines. He has also worked closely with customers on the buy side across the world in all major markets to develop a range of index and risk analytics solutions. He has led a number of major corporate transformations and has deep experience in both developing and leading the execution of commercial and corporate strategy.

Waqas has a Bachelors degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Imperial College London and completed the Investment Management Programme at London Business School.
