His extensive expertise spans credit risk, balance sheet management, enterprise risk management, risk governance, and analytics, making him a trusted advisor to a wide range of financial institutions.

Known for his industry-leading approaches and commitment to client success, Umit guides his clients in pursuing management objectives while addressing supervisory feedback. Additionally, Umit has played a pivotal role in developing advanced analytical tools within Oliver Wyman, benefiting both internal operations and external client engagements.

Umit has a Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University and a B.A. in Economics from Koç University in Istanbul, Turkey. He has contributed to the field with publications on strategic finance, credit markets, LIBOR transition, Asset Liability Management, liquidity risk, and model risk management.

Residing in New York with his daughter, Umit finds inspiration in arts, nature, exploring different cultures, and living an examined life.
