Dr Thomas Garside leads Oliver Wyman’s Finance and Risk Practice in Asia Pacific.
Based in Singapore, he has more than 30 years of experience in management and financial markets consultancy, serving banking, insurance, asset management, and regulatory clients across Europe, Middle East and Asia.
Thomas has led some of the largest and most high-profile restructuring and recapitalization programs since the global financial crisis, as well as subsequent transformations, capability builds, and regulatory remediation responses for risk and finance functions.

His recent client work includes supporting the operational and scenario planning responses for COVID-19, integrating of stress testing and strategic planning capabilities, applying innovative funding and risk transfer techniques, assessing and embedding climate risks into core business processes, reassessing treasury capabilities in response to the new interest rate environment, and reviewing risk organization, efficiency, and governance.
Thomas holds a PhD in experimental and computational fluid dynamics and an MA in Engineering Science from the University of Oxford.
Outside of work, he is passionate about cooking and travelling with his family, sailing, and photography.
