Michael is a partner in Oliver Wyman’s Energy and Natural Resources Practice in Australia. He has over 18 years of industry and management consulting experience.
Michael specialises in growth strategy, transformation, performance improvement, and merger integration, with an industry focus on the Australian electricity landscape.
My focus is predominantly on the energy sector. I am a bit of an ‘energy geek’ at heart, and have had the privilege of supporting clients as they challenge the bounds of existing business models, through propositions like virtual power plants and clean manufacturing precincts
Prior to Oliver Wyman, Michael held roles in strategy consulting and management. He also has relevant hands-on industry experience, driving optimisation of a national communications operator’s network planning capability, and delivering efficiencies through the introduction of new capital-efficient network technologies.
The energy transition and decarbonisation represent the most significant opportunity and challenge of our lifetime. Pathways over the next 30 years will be difficult to forge, and the right pace or balance will be contentious
Michael holds a Bachelor of Commerce, and a Bachelor of Engineering (with 1st class Honours) from the University of Auckland. He also holds an MBA from the Chicago Booth Business School.
