Marcel is a principal in Oliver Wyman’s Zurich office, specializing in banking.

He brings years of consulting experience with banks and regulators, along with his expertise as an executive director at a globally operating Swiss bank.

As a member of the Finance and Risk Practice, he focuses on finance, treasury, and risk departments within Swiss and European banks. His expertise spans target operating models, process excellence, governance, risk modeling, model validation, financial resource management, strategic and operational planning, and cost management.

Banking regulation strengthens resilience, but its true value emerges when banks embrace risk management as a strategic tool for growth and value, rather than treating it as a checkbox exercise

Marcel values the growth mindset that comes with consulting and thrives on the challenge of working on dynamic projects in an ever-changing industry. He values team spirit, flat hierarchies, and the encouragement for everyone to be themselves at work.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, majoring in finance from the University of Mannheim. He has also successfully completed all three levels of the CFA exams.

Outside of work, Marcel enjoys a range of activities. He is an avid sports fan, both as a soccer player and a spectator. He is also fond of hiking, traveling, and spending time at the lake with friends and family.
