Juan is a principal in Oliver Wyman’s Actuarial Practice in Europe, where he also leads the Actuarial Services Practice in Iberia.

With a background in economics and actuarial sciences, Juan brings a unique blend of skills to our Madrid office.

After working in actuarial consulting and structured reinsurance for more than 20 years in Spain, Portugal, UK, Netherlands Latin America, Juan joined Oliver Wyman. He leverages his problem-solving abilities to assist insurance entities in maintaining a robust financial and solvency level. Additionally, Juan is an expert in longevity and has been involved in the execution of longevity swaps in Europe. He is an expert at bringing together individuals from diverse backgrounds and nationalities to creatively address challenges related to insurance solvency capital requirements.

Relocating to the UK early in my career pushed me out of my comfort zone. I learned that such moments are when I excel. I encourage others to embrace such challenges, as success often comes to those who adapt to new environments and not only survive but thrive in the face of change

Juan specializes in financial reporting, risk management, reinsurance, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, and financial modeling and transformation. With his deep industry knowledge in Europe and Latin America, he provides specialized expertise to our clients, partnering with them to achieve sustainable and profitable growth.

Outside of work, Juan is married and has four children. He has also served in the Spanish army and worked as a ski instructor for many years.

When he is not working, Juan enjoys spending time in the mountains, whether it's alpine skiing, trekking, or biking. He also loves spending time with friends and family.
