Guxin Lin
Principal

Based in New York, Guxin is a principal in Oliver Wyman’s Communications, Media, and Technology Practice.

In his role, Guxin supports clients in media, which spans across television, streaming, sports, gaming, music, publishing, and education, as well as telecommunications.

The challenges faced by media players are global in nature: market-driven disruptions that impact incumbents from New York to London to Mumbai. While there is value in taking inspiration from peers, at the same time players need to craft customer-oriented offerings that fit their market context

Over the past decade, Guxin has been on the ground working with clients in North America, Asia, and Europe, helping clients navigate disruptions through growth. This includes fostering new business lines — from initiating a novel streaming service to aiding in market expansion, to overhauling a product that’s not performing well; or enhancing traditional businesses to liberate funds for growth — from carrying out post-acquisition integrations, to revolutionizing legacy broadcast operations, to refining churn and retention workflows.

Guxin was born in China, but spent time growing up in Germany and Canada. He now calls Connecticut home, where he lives with his wife and son.

In his free time, if he is not mountain skiing or doing movement analysis to improve his (self-admittedly terrible) form, Guxin is probably in the garage with a circular saw working on the next home improvement project.
