Erik is a partner based in our Jakarta office. He has rich experience and passion for helping companies innovate and compete globally.

He has been deeply involved in the financial services sector in Indonesia for the last 16 years, holding senior roles in top tech conglomerates, consulting firms, and banks, most notably as general manager for transformation at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia in its headquarters and in Indonesia.

Erik has collaborated with diverse Indonesian financial services clients, from state-owned enterprises to privately held firms, on retail and corporate banking programs, digital strategy, public policy, multi-national operations, and onshore investments. One of his proudest achievements is being part of the team that drove the consolidation and electronification of payments in Indonesia.

Having worked as a strategic management advisor in Indonesia for more than a decade, I have come to appreciate how unique and ambitious the country is. Duplicating business models from abroad doesn’t necessarily work in Indonesia — the hard work needs to be done here

Erik believes that Indonesia is a unique and ambitious country that requires tailored solutions rather than copying business models from abroad. He is excited to be part of Oliver Wyman’s high caliber team in the region, and to help businesses tackle complex, unstructured, and first-of-its-kind challenges. He also embraces a learning mindset and seeks to discover new perspectives.

He has a Master’s degree in Management Science from Nyenrode Business University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from The Hague University of Applied Sciences.

Erik is happily married with three children. He enjoys training for marathons, playing musical instruments, and facilitating executive discussions across different industries.
