Clarence Koo founded Oliver Wyman’s Singapore office in 1996. Prior to that, he served for ten years out of New York covering North American and European firms.

Clarence has led consulting projects for leading banks and financial institutions in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea and Australia. His experience spans all the key business lines in financial services, including commercial banking, corporate finance, treasury, capital markets, leasing, retail distribution, home mortgages, credit cards, life insurance and annuities, mutual funds and retirement plans, general insurance and reinsurance. He has also led a number of projects linking risk and capital management to an integrated approach to value improvement.

Clarence holds a JD from Stanford Law School and a BA in International Relations & Affairs from the Wharton School at University of Pennsylvania. Beyond his business contributions, he has always been a huge champion of our culture and values, and is the life of every office party.

Opening up Oliver Wyman’s Asian practice by myself was a significant turning point in my career. I had to do everything—taxes, office space, recruiting, supplies—and it was fun. It made me live even deeper the entrepreneurial spirit that we seek to inculcate here, and I’m proud to work alongside highly curious people who love to learn.
