Andreas is a partner in Oliver Wyman’s Transportation practice, based in our Sydney office.

He focuses on strategic business decisions for transport clients across airlines, airports, rail, loyalty, and tourism. As an internationally recognised expert in these fields, Andreas draws from his work experience in Australia, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, China, North America, the Middle East, and Europe.

Andreas has more than two decades of experience working in the transport, travel, and tourism sector, both within industry roles and as a strategy consultant. Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, he led the Australia/NZ/SE Asian Aviation Practice in management consulting firms, ran his own aviation and loyalty consultancy, and had leadership and strategy roles at Virgin Australia, Qantas, and Thomas Cook. Andreas holds an MBA from INSEAD.

The transport and travel sector fulfills important human desires to connect and explore, while also delivering the goods we rely on in our daily lives. Our clients trust us to help them quickly adapt and successfully stay ahead of trends

Using his deep experience in commercial and operational functions, Andreas has led the successful execution of numerous client engagements, including multi-year strategies, large-scale transformations, pre-/post deal support, commercial programs, improved organizational designs, operating models and culture, as well as solutions to specific operational challenges.

Navigating the sector through frequent external challenges and helping it transform into an environmentally more sustainable future is a crucial focus for Andreas. Developing lasting relationships and watching teams and individuals grow and succeed (both at his clients and Oliver Wyman) has been hugely rewarding for him: “Like many others who set their foot into the transport and travel sector, I have been hooked by the industry and the many likeminded and talented people working within it.”

Outside of work, Andreas cherishes the time he spends with his wife, two daughters, and son, as the family explores the Australian Outback, plays board games, or swims at Manly Beach. He also enjoys watching his beloved Bayern Munich play and is an aspiring hobby chef.
