The Women in Aviation and Aerospace Charter has nominated UK Partner Sumati Sharma in the International Air Transport Association Diversity and Inclusion Awards.
Sumati has been shortlisted in the Inspirational Role Model category, which recognizes women holding a senior positions within the air transport industry who have had a significant impact on the aviation agenda through strong contribution to business delivery and support of the diversity and inclusion agenda.
Sumati is the founder and co-chair of the Women in Aviation and Aerospace Charter (WIAAC), a UK-based campaign to encourage organisations to adopt and promote diversity and inclusion strategies, including empowering women to seek careers and promotions in what have traditionally been male-dominated sectors.

During her time working at Virgin Atlantic, Sumati was instrumental in helping create their Be Yourself D&I campaign, and since becoming a Partner in Oliver Wyman's Aviation practice she helps other businesses in the industry create and implement their own strategies.
