Hotelier Middle East: Lifting Of Travel Ban On Vaccinated Saudi Citizens

Immunized citizens and residents of Saudi Arabia have been allowed to travel internationally once again, with the UAE, more specifically Dubai, likely to be first on many peoples’ destination list.
Saudi Arabia was one of Dubai’s top source markets, before the pandemic hit, with 1.6 million visiting Dubai in 2019, and similarly high figures recorded in previous years.
Speaking to Hotelier Middle East, Matthieu de Clercq, Public Sector and Policy partner at Oliver Wyman, noted, “The gradual lifting of bans and travel restrictions will be beneficial to both regional business travel and short-stay tourism as we see a growing demand across those segments.”
