Oliver Wyman Announces Til Schuermann As Global Head Of The Finance & Risk Practice

New York, NY, October 14, 2024 – Oliver Wyman, a leading global management consulting firm and a business of Marsh McLennan [NYSE: MMC] announced today that Til Schuermann has been appointed Global Head of Finance & Risk effective immediately. Mr. Schuermann will be based in the firm’s San Francisco office.

Mr. Schuermann is widely recognized as an expert on matters related to stress testing, enterprise-wide risk management, risk governance. Some of the world’s largest financial institutions and systemically important banking systems have relied on Mr. Schuermann’s expertise to evaluate the soundness and resilience of their systems. He has participated in the stress testing of the Spanish (2012) and Slovenian (2013) banking systems, the European Central Bank’s Comprehensive Assessment in 2014, and several additional programs in Europe and Asia.

Before joining Oliver Wyman in 2011, Mr. Schuermann held numerous leadership positions at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York including senior vice president at the bank, head of Financial Intermediation in Research, and head of Credit Risk in Bank Supervision. He led the design and execution of the ‘bank stress test’ and subsequent Comprehensive Capital Analysis and Review programs.
Mr. Schuermann received a PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He started his career at Bell Labs.
