Jim Schmidt Discusses The Use of Robots In Car Manufacturing

Automakers are facing rising labor costs, and are looking to resort to methods to lower cost while maintaining quality and efficiency.  Robots have been on the auto assembly for decades, but in the future, it is likely that automakers will introduce more robots and other technological advances to assist in automation, manufacturing, and cost benefit.

"The mode of operation for decades now is 'ride the attrition curve'," said Jim Schmidt, vice president in Oliver Wyman's Automotive and Manufacturing practice, in an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
